Oral Cancer Screening

Oral cancer is an ugly topic that many shy away from. However it is critical that we detect signs of oral cancers early in its stages as they can be very aggressive.

Part of your routine check up our dental clinical team will look for signs of any non-healing lesions or striations that may or maynot cause any discomfort. As a matter of fact, many early signs of oral cancer do not hurt and goes un-noticed until it is advanced.

We use tools such as Velscope which is a specialised light that shines on the oral tissue and tells us whether or not a suspicious lesion is present. Dr. Huang and Dr. Wu works closely with many patients ongoing with BC Cancer Agency to ensure the best of care is provided and close follow up are done.

Early detection of oral cancer and lesions are highly treatable therefore it is critical that we have annual exams to ensure all is well.
